Hitesh Mehta

BIOGRAPHY: Hitesh Mehta is founder director of Aahan (Inc) Pte Ltd, Singapore, CEO of Eagle Photonics Pvt Ltd and Fiber Optika Technologies pvt Ltd, companies he co-founded in year 2002 and 2007 respectively. He is also serving as Business head at Fiber optic sensing solutions Pvt Ltd, a startup founded by TVS group recently. He is alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology -IIT Delhi and has 29 years of experience in field of Photonics, Fiber optics networking and sensors. He has served in Government and Private sectors before starting his own venture. He has filed 12 domestic and international patents for optoelectronics products and trained more than 5000 working professionals across 20 countries on technology through his corporate training programs. He is recipient of Graham bell award for Innovation, DST-Lockheed Martin Gold Medal for innovation and Economic Times-Power of Ideas award for best business ideas.

PROFICIENCE:

Continuing education program run by IEEE Bangalore section with IISc – Served as co-ordinator on behalf of IEEE for 4 years (2008-12)

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

MEMBERSHIP :

  • Continuous Membership drive for IEEE Bangalore section resulted in increment of member count from 3000 to 9000 in five years as well as high member retention.
  • Taken initiative to bring A&A Panel meeting to India and Bangalore, instrumental in hosting two A&A panel meeting at Bangalore (2007, 2013) ,which were only occasions when A&A Panel meeting held at India. Attended third A&A Panel meeting at Mumbai in March 2016.
  • Special drives for membership elevation, during tenure as MDC and Chairman of IEEE Bangalore section, resulted in 400 new senior members in a decade, in which around 200 got elevation in tenure as Chairman (2012-13)
  • As Membership development chair of Bombay section, got 200+ members elevated to senior membership in 2019-2020.

MEMBERS’ BENEFIT:

Conceptualised Group Medical Insurance for all IEEE members in India, which was taken up further by IEEE India office and the same had been implemented from 2017

SECTION/ CHAPTER:

  • Formation of Mangalore sub-section under Bangalore section
  • Registration of IEEE Bangalore Section as society under state government act, for running IEEE activities and finance smoothly.
  • Getting Income tax exemption for section, so that section does not have to pay any government tax out of cash surplus.
  • 300+ events organized by Bangalore section along with Chapter, societies and affinity groups in 2013 resulted in section getting Best Large Section Award by MGA as well as Region 10.
  • Started chapter co-ordination as a special focus at Bangalore section, resulting in an increased number of active chapters/ affinity groups at Bangalore from 8 to 25 in a couple of years.

TECHNICAL:

Arranged/ contributed in many (75+) IEEE technical events (seminar, conference, tutorial, workshop, INDICON. All India Student Congress and International conferences) for 12 years. Started a series of yearly IEEE international conference IEEE CONECCT at Bangalore from 2012

PROFESSIONAL:

  • Started a tradition of regular tutorials at Bangalore section on cutting edge technologies for industry professionals.
  • Increased IEEE- Industry interactions. Signed MoU with TiE, ISA, Swissnex, Contact Singapore, IPM and many other similar organization.
